Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which was founded in 1993 and which provides therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with special needs. Each year, Dream Catchers provides approximately 4,000 lessons to participants (ages 4 to 105) with a team of 15 horses, 10 instructors, 1 Licensed Clinical Social Worker and 1 Licensed Speech Therapist. Dedicated volunteers support the Center with more than 13,000 volunteer hours annually. Our generous donors, corporate sponsors and volunteers enable us to provide life-changing programs to children and adults with special needs at our beautiful state-of-the-art facility on 22 acres in Toano, Virginia.
We host many fundraising events, including our November event, Cowboys Uncorked at The Williamsburg Winery. EVB has been our $2,500 “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” Sponsor for this event for the past two years. Check out our website http://www.dreamcatchers.org for information about our events and how you can join the “Dream Team” and become a volunteer.
Our volunteers help us change lives through their dedication and kind hearts. We depend on volunteers to run our programs and without their help, we would not be able to serve our participants. Our greatest need is lesson volunteers who help us with our therapeutic riding lessons, ground lessons and speech therapy lessons. No experience is required, we provide all the necessary training to get you started!
